About
The field.
The team.
The system.
My background is in EMS and healthcare operations. The questions I work on now grew out of that experience.

In the field and in operations
I spent nearly a decade at Royal Ambulance in Santa Clara County, working as an EMT, field training officer, and operations supervisor. I worked on training, incident investigation, fleet safety, documentation, and the processes connecting those activities.
I later served as Program Manager for 24 Hour Home Care’s Concord location, overseeing day-to-day operations, caregiver staffing, client relationships, and branch performance.

What I’m building now
I’m the founder of chatIR. It supports operational learning by helping teams recover context, examine recurring conditions across incident records, and review the evidence behind a finding.
The people responsible for the operation bring context that software does not have. They decide what to investigate and what to change. I want the product to make that judgment better informed.
Why I write
The garden is where I connect experiences, reading, conversations, and questions about professional life. Leadership, safety, systems, and building a company meet there.
Some notes become practical tools. Some help explain a choice in chatIR. Others remain open questions. I want the connections and changes in my thinking to stay visible.
How I work
I like to understand the context before jumping to a solution. That is something I have had to practice: the urge to fix a problem can arrive before I have understood it.
In operations, I learned to value direct communication, time to think, and questions that help people explain their reasoning. Developing someone else’s judgment is a different kind of work from being the person who always steps in.
Those habits connect the operating projects, the writing, and the software. The garden is where I keep working through them in public.
